If you have landed here, you probably typed something like “where to buy Modere now” or “what happened to Modere Australia” into Google with a slightly sinking feeling. I know that feeling personally. In April 2025 I was a customer too, staring at an empty Modere website, wondering where my next bottle of Liquid BioCell was going to come from. I have been taking Modere Liquid BioCell LIFE every day since it was first released in Australia in spring 2018, so this was not an abstract problem in our house.
The short answer: Modere the company is gone, but the Modere products are back, made to the same formulas, and you can buy them in Australia right now. What actually happened to Modere
On 12 April 2025, Modere abruptly shut down after 23 years in business. There was no long wind-down and no clearance sale: websites went dark, orders stopped, and customers and team members around the world were left without answers. The official reason was never published, though global financial pressure on the company was widely reported.
Then came the part that genuinely surprised the industry. On 23 May 2025, Shaklee, the company that created the first multivitamin in the United States back in 1956, announced it had acquired substantially all of Modere’s business. That was not just a licence to use the name. The acquisition included the trademarks, the patents, the formulas for every Modere product including Liquid BioCell Collagen, plus the actual manufacturing and testing equipment from Modere’s North American facilities and the existing inventory. In plain terms: the same products, made the same way, on the same machines.
Sales restarted in the United States on 28 May 2025, and Australia got its relaunch on 17 June 2025. For our family the restock day honestly felt like Christmas. The cupboard that had been slowly emptying since April is full again.
Why I trust this transition, from someone who was there for Neways
A bit of context on who is writing this, because with so much recycled content online you deserve to know. My household has been using these clean-living products for over 30 years. We started back when the company was called Neways, long before the 2013 rebrand to Modere, and we stayed through every era because the products kept earning their place on our shelves. Non-toxic cleaning, clean personal care, honest supplements: that has been how we run our home for three decades, well before “low-tox living” was a hashtag.
When Liquid BioCell launched in Australia in spring 2018, I started taking it and have not stopped since. What has changed is the home. Products now ship through Shaklee’s network rather than Modere’s old system, and in many cases pricing has actually come down slightly compared with what Modere charged. Old Modere accounts and loyalty points did not survive the shutdown, which I know stings if you had credits banked, but new customer pricing through an Ambassador site like this one typically lands below old Modere retail anyway.

The acquisition was a publicly announced corporate transaction, reported by industry press and confirmed in Shaklee’s own press release, and the Australian relaunch has been running since June 2025. I would also gently point out the thing that convinced me: a company does not survive since 1956, through every fad and downturn, without its products actually working and its quality holding up.
